ACT Planning Review

ACT Planning Review

The ACT Government is undertaking a review of the planning system for Canberra.

The objectives are to:

  • enable the sustainable growth of the city without compromising its valued character
  • provide clarity of processes, roles and outcomes for the city’s communities
  • provide flexible assessment pathways that are appropriate to the scale and scope of development.

The Inner South Canberra Community Council (ISCCC), the umbrella organisation representing residents’ groups and community councils in the inner south, has provided feedback to the Planning Review.

A letter to the ACT Government from the chair of the ISCCC is attached.  The letter seeks various changes to the current ACT planning system to address several areas of concern. It has offered to work with the Government in its current review of the planning system to resolve some of these problems.
