Timetables for the updated bus network, including school packs, will be available to download in January 2026.
The bridge project will have significant impact on all road users during the construction period, which has been announced by the NCA to begin on Wednesday 7 January 2026.
Changes to bus services will include:
- A dedicated bus and emergency services priority lane across Commonwealth Avenue Bridge northbound into the city
- 15-minute standard frequency for all weekday Rapid bus services across the network until 7.30 pm
- Four new dedicated school services (1016, 1026, 2012, 2077) and two new local services in Belconnen (Route 12 and Route 13)
- All dedicated school services will remain the same as in the current bus network, with temporary adjustments including timing, for 51 schools
- Temporary modifications to some Rapids and local bus services, including weekends.
In other news, bus transport is now free every Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm until Saturday, 28 February 2026 to support the night-time economy.
