Invitation to make a submission on the Inquiry into Planning (Missing Middle Housing) Amendment Bill 2026

The ACT Government’s  Standing Committee on Environment and Planning invites interested residents to make a submission to its Inquiry into Planning (Missing Middle Housing) Amendment Bill 2026 (the Bill).

The inquiry’s terms of reference are to prepare a report on the Planning (Missing Middle Housing) Amendment Bil 2026. The purpose of the Bill is to support the Government’s proposed Missing Middle Housing Reforms (DPA-04) to the Territory Plan. The Committee is currently undertaking an inquiry into DPA-04 which is already well advanced, with a report due by 30 April 2026. The Bill will be examined in parallel to the existing inquiry.

The Committee is keen to receive the views of the community and stakeholders and invites you to have your say.

How to make a submission.

Submissions close 5pm on 30 April 2026. The Committee intends to hold public hearings on 19 May 2026.  If you don’t think you will be able to submit your submission by the due date, you may request extra time by contacting the committee at  LACommitteeEnvironment@parliament.act.gov.au. All extension requests will be considered by the Committee. Those wishing to appear before the Committee at public hearings in May are encouraged to submit by the 30 April 2026 deadline.
